Convention archive

Also a work in progress, this archive will eventually tell the story of our Annual General Meeting and the card fair and Convention that slowly grew to accompany it. Many thanks to everyone who has sorted through their magazines and memories to give us dates and venues. There was such a lot of information that it will take some time to load it in. 

Once that is done, we will again ask for your assistance, so please watch this space. And if you come across any souvenirs of these events, please contact us so we can add notes and pictures to our records...

De Vere Jubilee Conference Centre, Nottingham

We could not believe it was ten years ago that we were down this way, though then we were visiting Norwich.

Leisure Centre, Stratford-upon-Avon
It turned out we were not going to Manchester after all, there were problems at the venue due to the television programme ‘Robot Wars’ being filmed in the adjoining hall.

Perdiswell Golf & Leisure Centre, Worcester
We had been in Perdiswell before, in 2007. This year at Bilford Road, the Convention had a bit of a change from our usual Friday and Saturday events.

Theatre & Convention Centre, Southport
Friday 25th and Saturday 26th April 2014 found us on the Promenade just off the town centre and only a short walk from the rail station.

Stratford-upon-Avon
This year, back to the home of Shakespeare, on a weekend that will be remembered by most for a Royal Wedding (William and Catherine). We also faced stiff opposition from a major literary festival.
