Each of our magazines includes an auction, of about a hundred and fifty lots, vintage and modern, sets and types, and tobacco and trade. These lots have all belonged to our members, and are either items from their own collections, sold off as their interests change, or from their deceased estates. They are not items bought in to sell on, nor do we allow unsold lots to roll on endlessly for many months.

Cartophilic Society members can send their bids in from the moment their magazine arrives. Then, about a week before bids close, we publish the same catalogue on this website, so that non-members can also bid. The only difference after that is that we charge non-members a 10% Buyers Premium on top of the hammer price. Society members do not pay this, it is another little bonus that comes along with their subscriptions, and we are open enough to suggest, right from the outset, that if you think you are going to be a regular bidder, it makes sense to become a member early on.

We do request that along with your bid you always add your telephone number. This is only for use in the case of difficulties, and such are seldom. However if they do arise having a direct contact number at hand makes things much easier. Needless to say we will never circulate this, nor use it for any other purpose; and it will definitely not be used for any form of marketing. And we also request that you make sure your email address is correct each time too.

If any bidder would like to see scans of, or receive more information on, any of our lots, in order to help with their bidding we are only too happy to oblige. Please email your requests to  auctions@card-world.co.uk - and do note that we will send you confirmation, or a reply, so if you don`t hear back do contact us again.

    AUCTION JOTTINGS :

I trust everyone is enjoying this hot weather, we have had a bit of a heatwave followed by some cooler temperatures and now seem to be getting back to the heat. It’s great for sports of course, I was thrilled by England winning the first test match against India and amazingly I have been successful again in the Wimbledon ticket ballot and have Centre Court tickets for the first Tuesday.

By the time this is published that will all be over and as will a couple more of the Test Matches.

It would be helpful to me if bidders could include a telephone number with their bids, this would allow me to call to sort out any difficulties should they occur. I do call some bidders whose numbers I have, and of course such details will be kept confidential and not used for marketing purposes!

And so on to the highlights this time. We have more Military types (lots 1-17), 2 Pattreiouex Football Teams (lots 18 /19), some Clarke and Murray Footballers (lots 46-56), 2 Taddy Cricketers (lots 61/62), a Phillips Beauties HUMPS (lot 63), a Smith Champions of Sport no. 19, golfer J Braid (lot 106), three Wills Cricketers 1896 (lots 115-117), 4 Hill Battleships & Crests (lots 139-142) and 3 Barratt Cricket Team Folders (lots 144-146).

Please have a good look through the listing and the best of luck with your bids. And note that the bids must be received by Friday the 29th of August 2025, by email to auctions@card-world.co.uk

By the way, if any bidder would like to see scans of, or receive more information on, any of our lots, in order to help with their bidding we are only too happy to oblige. Please email your requests to the same email as above - auctions@card-world.co.uk - and do note that we will send you confirmation, or a reply, so if you don`t hear back do contact us again.

One day this will be an amazing resource, but it needs work. The intention is to have this page as the home for all catalogues, moving the current one down to this section once the auction is ended and the hammer prices have been added. But its proving difficult to fathom out how.
