A WORD ABOUT OUR DEALERS

By the way if YOU stall out here, drop us a line and tell us what you sell. This is a free advert, simply as a way of promoting the branches and what they do. And we are happy to include photos of your stock and a link to your own website or sales pages

A LOOK INTO OUR ARCHIVES

This tiny advertisement in the Cartophilic Notes and News magazine, copy dated January 1981, started our Branch story off:

A new branch for the East Midlands?” Mr J. A. Drew of Glenfield in Leicester is anxious to contact any members who would be interested in his intention to form a new branch.”

Some time after that, when the Branch Secretary was Kevin Kershaw, they first started meeting at The Fairfield Inn on the second Monday of every month, from 7.30pm to about 9.30pm. This was an excellent 'local' with parking, including disabled parking, wheelchair access, and it also had an ATM, very important on fair days.

The Leicestershire Card Club

Now we are not sure if these two are the same under different names, but in Card Times for February 2000 they appear in the meeting listings. And at that time they met at the Cricketers in Leicester.
