This diary brings the various clubs to the fore as one meeting ends, though sometimes I am a bit slow in that. We meet on the second Thursday of each month apart from January at Charvil Village Hall, in Park Lane, Charvil, near Twyford, Berkshire RG10 9TR. 

Meetings start at 8.00 pm although doors open at 7.30 pm, and we finish up at 9.45 pm.

Subscriptions are due on April 1st, for £12.00, and we will take them at this March meeting.
Non-members are very welcome at our meetings too, they just pay £3 to come in.

Admission is free. 

Our meetings offer all manner of cards, printed ephemera, and memorabilia. Something for everyone! And refreshments are also available.

Northampton

We meet at Weston Favell Parish Hall, on Booth Lane South, Northampton, NN3 3EP - which has a large car park. We aim to have one visiting dealer at each meeting, and heartily encourage swapping between our members.

Our meetings take place from 6 - 9 pm on the first Monday in the month, unless that date is a Bank Holiday - and this affects us pnly once this year, for our May meeting.

We meet at Normandy Village Hall, Manor Fruit Farm, Glaziers Lane, Normandy, GU3 2DD. Admission is free.

Yes, this year we will be bringing our Cartophilic Convention down to The Leisure Centre, Park Road HP1 1JS - a lovely location, and fondly remembered, for we were here before, in 2022. 

The opening times are  -

Cartophilic Society members 10.00 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. - admission free

Non Members admittance at 12.00 noon until 5.30 p.m. - admission (family ticket) £4

SUNDAY 27th of APRIL

admission free, to everyone 10.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.

Cotswolds - All Day Rallies

Our all day rallies are on Sundays, from 9 am until 3 pm, and are held twice a year - these being

New cards this year - most of which come from one of my favourite sets, J. A. Pattrieouex`s "The English and Welsh Counties", issued in 1928. We featured this set as our Card of the Day for the 26th of May 2022, but I just spotted there is no card code there. Another job for the weekend...

This set has a card for every county that, at that time, made up England and Wales. The main body of the card shows a local landmark, and, within the circle, is the local industry - so many of which are now very different. Within the box at the very bottom are two names, the top, in capital letters, being the County name, and the lower one being the County Town. 

There is one exception to this though, and that is London. For some reason there was no card of London in the set, and so we have chosen a very unusual one, from Gallaher`s "Great War Series", ostensibly a card to show searchlights, but also illuminating one of London`s most familiar landmarks, Nelson`s Column in Trafalgar Square.
