Each of our magazines includes an auction, of about a hundred and fifty lots, vintage and modern, sets and types, and tobacco and trade. These lots have all belonged to our members, and are either items from their own collections, sold off as their interests change, or from their deceased estates. They are not items bought in to sell on, nor do we allow unsold lots to roll on endlessly for many months.
Cartophilic Society members can send their bids in from the moment their magazine arrives. Then, about a week before bids close, we publish the same catalogue on this website, so that non-members can also bid. The only difference after that is that we charge non-members a 10% Buyers Premium on top of the hammer price. Society members do not pay this, it is another little bonus that comes along with their subscriptions, and we are open enough to suggest, right from the outset, that if you think you are going to be a regular bidder, it makes sense to become a member early on.
We do request that along with your bid you always add your telephone number. This is only for use in the case of difficulties, and such are seldom. However if they do arise having a direct contact number at hand makes things much easier. Needless to say we will never circulate this, nor use it for any other purpose; and it will definitely not be used for any form of marketing. And we also request that you make sure your email address is correct each time too.
If any bidder would like to see scans of, or receive more information on, any of our lots, in order to help with their bidding we are only too happy to oblige. Please email your requests to auctions@card-world.co.uk - and do note that we will send you confirmation, or a reply, so if you don`t hear back do contact us again.
