here we are, in the last week of February, already, but, unlike last year, there will be only twenty-eight days this year, and so it will remain until February the 29th comes along again in 2028.  This week I have done my best but may not finish. Hence short intro. And much racing

So here we are, in February, the gateway between the winter and the spring. Yet, for all that, it can still be cold and rainy.

And so another week ends. More than that, too, for this is the final week of January. I have already noticed, slightly, that the darkness in the evenings comes on slower, and the lightness in the morning is sometimes arrived at whilst I still slumber on.

Off we go again, into the wonderful world of cards - but more than that, in our endeavouring to show how cards can connect us with events of all kinds, from the humble beginnings of things we take for granted, and budding musicians, actors and actresses who went on to be great, household names.

And so to the end of another week, and not a great one. It is now Friday and I am still without two subjects - but there are a few hours to go.... And in those few hours, with some emailing, guess what, they have turned up.

Welcome to the first newsletter of 2025, and long may they continue, as well as evolve. For if they do not, then they run the risk of becoming what some may consider "old hat". After all, in April, I will have been writing them for six years!

And so, quickly, to another newsletter, written over Christmas, amidst the chaos. This one takes us into a New Year, 2025, a quarter of a century after the Millennium. Maybe there are readers who were not even born then, something I find quite incredible.
